Attendance

Attendance and absence information is critical in ensuring all students are accounted for as student safety and wellbeing is a high priority.

Teachers mark the Class Roll each morning after the 8.50am bell.

Student attendance data is monitored and collated by the Front Office Staff.

Attendance data is regularly monitored for patterns of lateness. Punctuality and attendance are vitally important as these are recorded on student reports.

Parents/Caregivers are required to notify the school when their child/children are going to be late or absent from school.

A brief explanation is required for absence or lateness including sickness, family reasons, appointment, etc.

Notify the school office on 8445 1194 or via email to the school at dl.0714.info@schools.sa.edu.au

Late Arrival (after 8:50am)

If your child arrives at school after the 8.50am it is a requirement that children report to the Front Office to sign in. They will be given a red late slip to hand to their teacher.

Absence - Unexplained

Students who are absent without the school being notified will be marked as Unexplained.

After three Unexplained absences, your child’s teacher will contact you to obtain a reason for the absence.

Early Departure

Parents/Caregivers are requested to report to the Front Office to sign out their child/children.
A green slip will be given to the class or specialist teacher who will allow the child to leave their class.

No student will be allowed to leave the classroom without a permission slip.

If you arrive at school to collect your child during break times without prior arrangement, you will be required to wait in the Front Office until the end of the break time when your child returns to class to collect them.

Student Exemptions

If your child/children are going to be absent for more than 3 consecutive school days due to family travel or a holiday, an exemption form must be completed. Please contact the Front Office Staff to complete an exemption form. All exemptions must be approved by the Principal.

Student Illness

If your child/children are absent for more than 3 consecutive school days in the event of illness,
a Doctors Certificate from a GP or hospital will need to be provided to the school. This certificate will be added to the student’s attendance data.
